Police warn they will take tough action against an eco-protester who co-founded climate change action group Plane Stupid and plans to bring chaos to runways across Wales, the Wales on Sunday newspaper reports. South Wales Police issued the warning after a threat by Joss Garman, who says airports in Cardiff and Swansea are next on his hit list.
Joss 21, from Llandrindod Wells, Powys, made the headlines after his actions with his anti-airline pressure group Plane Stupid. Activists including Joss closed the headquarters of Heathrow Airport operator BAA in April for over two hours after chaining themselves to office furniture and fittings.
Josh and friend Richard George formed Plane Stupid in November last year working specifically to fight the environmental damage caused by the airline industry. Currently studying politics at the University of London, this week he plans protests across Wales as part of a campaign against short haul flights.
