bmibaby announce new route; scrap two others
29.01.09
bmibaby announced a new service to Almeria in Spain from Cardiff Airport. However, the airline also announced that it would axe its routes from Cardiff to Amsterdam and Glasgow from March 29
The summer only service to Almeria - not currently offered by a budget airline from Cardiff - will operate from May 22 until October 22 each Monday and Friday. The budget airline expects to carry over 13,500 passengers on the new service over the summer months. Prices start from £41.99 one way including taxes and charges.
But a decline in bookings for city breaks in the current economic climate has seen it axe its routes between Cardiff and both Glasgow and Amsterdam. Customers with bookings after March 29 have been offered a refund or alternative routing.
