Another unscheduled stop for Flybe Paris flight
28.07.09
A Flybe flight from Paris to Cardiff with 51 passengers and four crew on board had to be diverted to Exeter yesterday after being hit by lightning. A plane operating the same route made an emergency landing at Gatwick last Friday after filling with smoke, closing the airport's runway for over an hour.
The passengers on yesterday's Cardiff bound flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle were transferred onto another plane to continue their journey to Cardiff, arriving at their destination at 14:10, one hour and forty minutes late.
A spokeswoman for Flybe said the plane landed at Exeter because they have a maintenance depot there - it is the regional budget airline's home airport. The plane was not damaged and no one was hurt.
