Passengers jetting off from Cardiff Airport were given the chance to pick up a good read at the check-in desk, when a local library took books to the airport. The scheme is part of a campaign to get more people to use their libraries.
Sandra Cooper and Claire Young, from Rhoose's public library, took a collection of books to the airport to remind passengers that they don't need to shell out to take a good read on holiday. They said: 'Lots of people take a couple of good books on holiday to read and relax, but it can be expensive. We wanted to remind people that they don't have to part with any cash in order to get their hands on a good book.'
The mobile library was a hit with passengers, with one saying: 'I'd never thought about joining the library but when I saw all the great books they had, like Katie Price's new autobiography which I've borrowed from them for my holiday, I decided to sign up. We have also borrowed some travel guides on Crete.'
