Record numbers of passengers will be flying out of Cardiff Airport over the Bank Holiday weekend. The airport expects to see a record 40,000 people pass through its doors, making it the busiest Bank Holiday weekend it has ever had.
And figures for July show the airport is having a record summer. Passenger numbers for July are up 12% on the same month last year, through a combination of increased flights and new destinations.
Head of marketing and communications at Cardiff Airport, Peter Phillips, said, 'This weekend will most certainly be the busiest bank holiday weekend we've had. Coming in peak season with a lot of new flights now available it's going to be huge.'
