Christmas travellers face a third day of misery as thick fog leads to more flight cancellations and delays at many UK airports, including Cardiff Airport. Up to seventy thousand passengers heading for a Christmas getaway have been stranded or delayed as fog plunged many airports into chaos. And weather experts predicted the fog will continue for another 48 hours at least.
A spokesman for airports operator BAA said that 'fairly significant problems' were expected today, with BA flights to Heathrow worst hit. The current (11:00) position at Cardiff airport is as follows:
