Airport seeks new transatlantic carrier
19.12.09
Cardiff Airport is searching for a new carrier to run flights to Florida after the collapse of Flyglobespan. The Edinburgh-based budget airline, which stopped flying this week, had planned scheduled flights from Cardiff to Orlando beginning next June.
The new service would have replaced the popular Cardiff to Florida flights run by XL, which ended when it went into administration in September of last year. Cardiff now has no scheduled transatlantic flights, only transfer links via its KLM flights to Amsterdam and occasional charter flights.
