Welsh people with second homes in Brittany are to get a new service from Aer Arann. The Irish airline has launched a new twice weekly service between Cardiff Airport to Lorient, Wales' first scheduled air link to Brittany.
With more British people buying property in France, Aer Arann has launched the service after an increase in flights by owners of second homes to Brittany via its Irish routes. France is also the UK's top tourist destination, with 12 million British visitors each year.
The 1 hr 20 min flights from Cardiff will take off on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These and other flights are expected to add almost 100,000 passengers to the airport's total this year.
