Cardiff Airport has banned parking attendants from giving motorists a push start when they have a flat battery at one of the aiprort's car parks. As previously reported, the move follows a similar ban at Manchester and Liverpool airports.
A Cardiff Airport spokesman said that car park staff are able to provide jump starts but workers were no longer allowed to help customers with push starts due to 'the risks attached'.
The move has been attacked by the Association of British Drivers. A spokesman said: 'It would be a matter of normal humanity to help someone who is experiencing difficulty. The employer should just keep out of it and allow staff to make their own judgement.'
'It's more political correctness gone mad. You don't often get people ordered by their bosses not to help paying customers. The airports customer service obviously doesn't extend to those who drive and pay to park their car at the airport.'
