Link road campaigners deliver petition
11.07.09
Campaigners against plans for a new link road to Cardiff Airport presented a petition to the Welsh National Assembly last week, the Barry News reports. A decision on the road is due to be announced on Wednesday (July 15).
The No Ely Valley Airport Road (NEVAR) group, Wenvoe campaigners and Vale Plaid AM Chris Franks, gave evidence to the Assembly that the case had not been made for the access road. Councillor Franks said: ‘I can see no evidence to support a link to the airport. The airport is reasonably served by transport links and certainly is not complaining [about lack of access].’
