Expert urges Welsh marketing

Cardiff Airport could gain routes to Germany and other European countries – if Wales mounted a sustained marketing campaign there, an expert told the South Wales Echo. Martin Evans, of the Wales Transport Research Centre, said Welsh Assembly Government's policy is ‘flawed’ because focused on selling Wales to UK visitors – who arrive by car and spend little in the country.
Mr Evans told the newspaper that attracting overseas visitors could help Cardiff Airport face up to tougher competition expected, if local rival Bristol Airport gets the go-ahead next month for a £150m expansion.
